Duduk

The duduk is not simply an instrument that brings just joy or sadness. It rather encompasses the soul and feelings, and is a united symphony of human moods. By breaking through all the language barriers, today duduk is known all over the world. It “speaks” English, Spanish, Italian, French, Czech, Persian, Russian and certainly Armenian. From songs and music tunes to concert works… these are the fame boundaries of the duduk.

The instrument is made of apricot wood. Perhaps, this is the reason for its sounds having the sweetness of apricot.
The instrument is composed of a pipe and a cane reed, which joins the upper part of the instrument. There are nine holes on the front and two holes on the opposite side of the pipe. A mobile loop for regulating the tune is located in the middle part of the reed. Besides the mentioned keys, the semitones are received through partially blocking/releasing the holes.
